Dockendale Training Academy is built on three core pillars: value-added training, a centre of knowledge and excellence, and global learning and development. These principles guide how we design, deliver, and continuously improve our programmes. Our focus is on providing practical, competency-based, and future-ready maritime training that meets the evolving needs of different vessel types, ranks, and the wider industry.
As part of the Dockendale Group, alongside Dockendale Ship Management, and through our longstanding affiliation with the MUR Group, we benefit from strong operational insight that ensures our training remains aligned with real-world onboard conditions.
Our 12,000 sq. ft. in-house training centre is equipped with advanced simulation facilities, including Ship Manoeuvring Simulators, Full Mission Engine Room Simulators, ECDIS systems, and Liquid Cargo Handling Simulators for oil, chemical, LPG, LNG, and methanol operations.
All courses are designed and delivered by experienced Masters and Chief Engineers with extensive seafaring backgrounds. Each programme aligns with owner expectations, industry standards, vessel-specific requirements, and best practice safety protocols. In addition, we are accredited by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Beyond classroom learning, we promote continuous development through blended methods, including digital modules via MarinePALS and collaboration with cross-functional operational teams. We emphasise not only technical competence but also human factors, fostering responsibility, safety, and continuous improvement.
At Dockendale Training Academy, training goes beyond compliance — it builds real competence and prepares seafarers for the demands of modern maritime operations.
